AWARE is a Platform for autonomous self-deploying and operation of wireless sensor-actuator networks cooperating with aerial objects. Its motivation is the integration of robotic systems (unmanned aerial vehicles or UAVs) with wireless sensor and actuator networks. UAVs as mobile nodes provide additional information, improve and repair the connectivity, and collect information. On the other hand, wireless sensor networks are extensions of the sensorial capabilities of the robots. The project is validated in two different applications: disaster management and filming.
